Phase 2 trials are underway at Hadassah.  Because of slow patient enrollment due to low HIV incidence in Israel, the Global Consortium for Immunotherapy has been established through collaborative efforts of Hadassah and the Human Futures Foundation for the purpose of extending trails to countries which will be able to complete patient enrollment quickly.

If success in HIV can be achieved, the Global Consortium for Immunotherapy will set as challenge promoting application of the theory in other auto-immune diseases such as multiple sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis, some cancers and diabetes.

So, not only would success in the HIV studies mean countless lives saved from AIDS-related morbidity, the therapy itself could represent a breakthrough in immunology itself.
